inter school hockey

The just ended two-day Citizens International Inter-School (CIIS) Hockey competition was but another occasion to prove that aside being excellent in academics, Wesley Girls’ High School can perform commendably in the field of sports.

Held at the Theodora Okoh Hockey Stadium in Accra, the event brought together other schools including Adisadel College (the defending champions), St. Augustine’s College, Accra Academy, Opoku Ware School, Prempeh College, Presbyterian Boys’ SHS, Legon, Achimota School, Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ School and Mfantsiman Girls’ SHS.
The trophy was keenly contested for, and Wesley Girls’ High School came back stronger to move from the runner-up position to win the trophy. Our very own Augustina Doe took the Best Player Award, along with Benjamin Kwofie of Adisadel College.

Miss Melissa Mahama, the team manager, commented that it was by God’s grace, the hard work of the team, as well as the support of our precious Mrs. Djokoto, that took first place in the Sprite Basketball Championship, inter-school athletics, Super Zonals athletics, and the Hockey competitions, in just the last six months.
