classes of honour 2016

Wesley Girls’ High School celebrated Ghana’s Republic Day in grand style with a special ceremony to subtly remind the country of a key factor for development: integrity.
After the adoption of the Class of Honour Initiative from Ashesi University, Mrs Betty Djokoto, the Headmistress,  inaugurated the second batch of classes who had willingly taken up the gauntlet to prove to the world that they can successfully “Live Pure, Speak True, Right Wrong and Follow The King” by being checks on one another.

After feverish preparations, the much anticipated week in the whole term, English and Theatre Week came off from 27th June to 1st July, 2016. The week saw the staging of the Elective Literature plays Othello by William Shakespeare, The Harvest of Corruption by Frank Ogodo Ogbeche and She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith; and the Core Literature play, William Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice.

seminar by old girls

On Tuesday, 31st May, 2016, two ebullient old girls of Wesley Girls’ High School, Mrs. Agnes Asafo-Adjei, a past senior prefect and Mrs. Jackson Coffie who had arrived from the United Kingdom a few days earlier organized workshops for both the teaching staff and the students. The teachers were taken through innovative teaching methodologies that could improve the teaching and learning process and the students were taken through various styles of learning.


sports fiesta 2016

Sports Fiesta is an annual sports festival which features various games and is aimed at helping girls unearth talents in the field of sports.
After fervent preparations by the students, the much anticipated Inter-house Sports Fiesta came off from 23rd to 28th May, 2016. The nine houses battled it out skillfully to be crowned champions of the following disciplines: soccer, netball, handball and basketball.

‘Counting our years you realize in one sense it has been so short a time’
These lines from Akosua Busia’s ‘Silver Wedding’ came alive as the five hundred and nineteen, graduating class of 2016 (Destiny Changers) majestically strutted down the attraction lane to ‘One more step along the world we go’ accompanied by the Regimental Band. One after the other, fifteen proud form masters and mistresses presented certificates to the graduating students of their classes.

To say thank you, the class of 2016 invited all who played a special role in their two and a half year stay in the school, aboard flight 2016. The regimental band welcomed the guests aboard the aircraft to Hawaii with a couple of tunes, after which Manuella Abu-Baidoo melodiously led the guests to pray at 7:45pm.

Three former students of Wesley Girls’ High school on 10th March 2016 were honoured for their outstanding performance in the WASSCE 2015. The Chairman of the occasion was in the person of Mr. Jacob A.M. Kor who is the Director General of the Ghana Education Service.

The breakdown of the Award is given below:

  • Jessica Ayele Quaye, overall best student in West Africa.
  • Ruth Awudzi, 2nd overall best student in West Africa.
  • Danielle Amo Mensah, 3rd overall best student in West Africa.
